Finding the road to your design brand 4-5 May

The workshop aims to investigate the route to creating a design brand. In the first stage of the workshop, participants will be working in groups to define the keywords, fundamentals, product range and aim of the brand. In the second stage they will propose a selection from the collection of this specific brand.

     
 

FOTOMARATON : HABITAT & HABITUS 4 May

Famagusta, a city which has lived through the Lusignan, Venice, Ottoman and English periods has a broad variety of housing profiles belonging to Modern and Postmodern periods in architecture. This broad variety not withstanding has not changed the Mediterranean Life Style and Custom of the people. Within the scope of EMU Faculty of Architecture's design week activities, EMU Faculty of Architecture HERA-C in collaboration with INAR 333 Architectural Photography course aims at organizing a Photo Marathon, with the purpose of revealing the richness of Famagusta's heritage, in terms of housing and custom/culture, thus creating an awareness of this rich heritage amongst students and also by this, contributing to the art of photography and announcing the design week.

     
 

Designing Head & Body Related Accessories - 3-4-5 May

In this workshop it is asked to design an accessory for a person in which he/she will use it on/cover/protect/decorate... his/her head or/and body. Main theme of the design will be inhereted from the Walled City-Famagusta. Accordingly, first; designer should visit, perceive, understand, sense, taste and hear the city. Second; try to pick-up a characteristic, image, identical element or the most decessive memory he/she had from the city. Third; try to interrelate this to accessory design as the main theme of design. And finally; be creative and innovative to design a challenging accessory....

     
 

Clothes for the space and space for the clothes 3-4 May

The main idea is to combine two different discipline in one pot. Is there any communication between architecture and fashion?

     
 

Object design 4-5 May

In this workshop students will design objects that can be used in the promotion of their Faculty and departments or can be sold as "souvenirs" in the book store. The selected objects will be produced and used in the promotional activities of the Faculty with the names of their designers.

Construct your Bus Stop 3-4 May

In this workshop, students will construct the prototypes of the selected three bus stops that are designed for EMU Campus, in FARC 102 and ITAS 102 courses.

     
 

Hands on Street- Street Furniture design 4-5 May

Street furniture are important items in creating the identity of any urban space. The same is true in a university campus. In this workshop students will design street furniture including the seats, dust bins, etc. for EMU. The selected objects will be presented to the authorities of the university and possibly will be produced and used in future.

     
 

"What are some kinds of design trigger"? - 5 May

The aim of the workshop is to use some design triggers as a starting point of the design. In workshop, students will design by using one or more design trigger in their short time sketches.
     
 

Wayfinding and Signage Design for Old Town Famagusta & EMU Campus – 3-4 May

You will learn and practice about wayfinding, signage design, color and typography to create a clear and concise wayfinding system that applies the build environment (Old Town Famagusta & EMU Campus)

DIVERSITY and DIFFUSION - 4-5-6 May

Architecture's materiality is therefore a composite one, made up of visible as well as invisible forces. Progress in architecture occurs through new concepts by which it becomes connected with this material, and it manifests itself in new aesthetic compositions and affects.
