MS in Urban Design

 

Program Aims

The graduate urban design program aims to develop the following abilities, which also “good urban design” depends upon:

  • To recognize and define urban design problems
  • To investigate the evolution, structure, form and character of urban places/spaces
  • To draw ideas, knowledge and skills from a range of disciplines and apply these to urban projects
  • To generate strong, purposeful and visionary urban design initiatives (concepts, policies, plans, guidelines, etc.)
  • To evaluate urban design programs, proposals and built works
  • To work successfully in interdisciplinary design teams and with private and public organizations and communities
  • To present urban design proposals and information in clear, convincing and innovatory ways
  • To appreciate cultural differences and work across national frontiers, and
  • To keep abreast with current urban design issues and ideas.
