EMU to Host 7th Interior Architecture Department Chairs Meeting

Eastern Mediterranean University, Architecture Faculty, Interior Architecture Department is finalising the preparations to host 7th Interior Architecture Department Chairs Meeting at EMU Architecture Faculty Meeting Room on 20 November 2015. Department chairs from around 50 different universities in Turkey and the TRNC are expected to attend the meeting where the accreditation issue will be discussed.

Along with the said meeting which will take place on 20 November 2015, on 19 November 2015, representatives of 9 institutions of higher education which has in-depth experience in postgraduate education (Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges – University of Economics and Technology, Anatolian University, Hacettepe University, Mimar Sinan University, Marmara University, Istanbul Technical University, İzmir Economy University, Eastern Mediterranean University, Bilkent University) will take part in a workshop entitled “3rd Interaction and Communication Platform Among Postgraduate Programs”.

The series of meetings taking place within the framework of the said platform will be held with the joint collaboration of EMU Interior Architecture Department, Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges – University of Economics and Technology, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department. Formerly in 2013, department chairs of the said universities Prof. Dr. Uğur Ulaş Dağlı and Prof. Dr. Müge Bozdayı took a decision to collaborate in finding answers to the question “How can the issue of establishing a dialogue in postgraduate education be solved?”, which led to the formation of the said platform, accordingly.

EMU Interior Architecture Department Chair Prof. Dr. Uğur Ulaş Dağlı stated that the meeting taking place during the current year carries special importance in highlighting the quality assurance and accreditation issues in education.

Prof. Dr. Dağlı also added that as the only Department of Interior Architecture which has gained accreditation in Turkey and the TRNC, EMU Interior Architecture Department will share their experiences of AQAS and the process of CIDA accrediation with other universities. Additionally, during the meeting, the work of “National Accreditation Board” launched with the joint initiative of EMU and Istanbul Technical University will be presented in a workshop. Prof. Dr. Dağlı stated that the workshop will host the sessions of four main working groups and will end with the presentation of findings.

20 Kasım 2015 tarihinde 7. İç Mimarlık Bölüm Başkanları Toplantısı DAÜ Eğitim Fakültesi, Güzel Sanatlar Eğitimi Bölümü Müzik Öğretmenliği Programı öğrencilerinin gerçekleştireceği müzik dinletisi sonrasında “2. Uluslararası Nurten Aksugür En İyi Konsept Yarışması Ödül Töreni” ile sona erecek.
