EMU Interior Architecture Department Represented EMU in IFI General Assembly

Eastern Mediterranean University Architecture Faculty, Interior Architecture Department represented Eastern Mediterranean University in the general assembly of the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) which took place in Kuala Lumpur.

EMU Interior Architecture Department attended the 50th general assembly of IFI as the only active institution from Turkey and TRNC along with the Chamber of Turkish Interior Architects.

The International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) is the global voice and authority for professional Interior Architects/Designers. The sole international federating body for Interior Architecture/Design organisations, IFI acts as a global forum for the exchange and development of knowledge and experience, in worldwide education, research and practice. IFI connects the international community in order to further the impact, influence and application of the design of interiors, promote global social responsibility, and raise the status of the profession worldwide. IFI represents over 270,000 designers, educators and industry stakeholders in the international design community in 110 countries on every continent collectively representing practicing Interior Architects/Designers worldwide.

The federation which was founded in Denmark in 1963 celebrated its 50th anniversary in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this year. During the assembly, elections for the new executive board for the International Interior Architecture Federation took place. EMU Interior Architecture Department, which is a member of IFI in the educational category, was represented by the Assistant Department Chair Assist. Prof. Dr. Asu Tozan Kiessel and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehra Öngül.
