Cemal Özyiğit, the Minister of National Education and Culture, participated in the promotion activity of the modernist Turkish Cypriot architect Ahmet Vural Behaeddin, the pioneer of modern architecture in Cyprus.Ahmet Vural Behaeddin's wife Tülin Behaeddin, Ministry Undersecretary Mehmet Burhan, Cultural Office Director Şehbal Hamzaoğulları, EMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Tanju Besler, EMU Architecture Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. With Özgün DinçyürekAcademicians and LTL School Principal and students were also present.In his speech at the event, Minister of National Education and Culture Cemal Özyiğit drew attention to the fact that Ahmet Vural Behaeddin is one of the important values raised by the Turkish Cypriot Community.Özyiğit emphasized the importance of transmitting the works and thoughts they left to future generations by showing the necessary respect to such people and said, “We must shape the future by teaching our children the right and good examples".Özyiğit remembered the architect Ahmet Vural Behaeddin, who left important works, and thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of the event.EMU Faculty of Architecture Dean Asst. Assoc. Dr. Banu Çavuşoğlu made a presentation on the life and works of Ahmet Vural Behaeddin and gave information about the 2019 Calendar prepared by the EMU Faculty of Architecture Ahmet Vural Behaeddin Committee.Following the speeches, Ahmet Behaeddin's wife Tülin Behaeddin and EMU Faculty of Architecture Ahmet Vural Behaeddin Committee presented a memorial and appreciation plaque.
