Design Week 2023
EMU Design week 2023 website
In the spring semester 2023, EMU Faculty of Architecture is organizing the 10th International Design Week in
the period 17
th to 18
th of May, 2023. This year is a unique occasion since INTDW celebrates its 10th anniversary.
In an attempt to cover the previous INTDW topics and activities, together with the spirit and the atmosphere
where many participants enjoyed being a creative part of it, this year we would like to introduce the theme and
explanation of the 10th INTDW:
“CO-CREATE !”
COMMUNICATE… to bridge the gaps and facilitate a common understanding of today’s phenomena…
INTERACT… to improve the multidisciplinary contexts of 21st
-century design paradigms…
SOCIALIZE… to limit the differences in cultural and artistic expressions …
UTILIZE …. design thinking to involve new platforms for creative campaigns and activisms …
MERGE … with the ongoing tendencies and mainstreams by affecting positively the communities …
CONCEPTUALIZE… the leading ideas and reflect the best of the creative potentials…
CHANGE… the way of perceiving the “new” world polluted on different levels of existence…
CLARIFY… the differences through creative, utilitarian and ergonomic aspects …
INTERMEDIATE… between complex societal phenomena and the need for activism…
EVOLVE… transforming into a tool for open and creative communication between cultures…
These ten keywords refer to the open framework of the theme having wide opportunities for varieties of
approaches. It is expected to have an inspiring program of talks, workshops, and exhibitions having their main
goal of questioning, debating, confronting, communicating, and proposing and testing new ideas and visions.
As always before, EMU INTDW tends to respond to the need for challenging the meaningful opportunities to
experience, communicate and think about design.
