Eastern Mediterranean University’s Faculty of Architecture—one of the oldest faculties in the university—makes distinct and innovative contributions to Education, Practice, and Community. The Faculty of Architecture vitally supports the university education by engendering independent learners and global citizens. It supports practice and graduates’ careers with a high quality educational milieu, valuable credentials, a foundational sense of perspective and purpose, and ultimately the formation of holistic human beings. The faculty, with both academic staff and students, also regularly serves the community with relevant and beneficial contributions to society through tremendous events and activities.
As the Faculty of Architecture, it is one of our main responsibilities to manifest a collective vision for the future that inspires and energizes all of us to be life-long learners and contributors—continuing together as students, alumni, staff, and administrators along with various stakeholders within the communities where we live and work.
The Faculty’s goals centre on enhancing existing programmes and establishing new programmes while increasing our focus and integration of global and international competencies and experiences. Not only that, the Faculty also has goals of deepening its community engagement, intensifying its research and development in the areas of architecture, and diversifying interdisciplinary collaborations.
This work builds on and is possible because of the Faculty’s resources and infrastructure in its urban campus context and in our host city, Famagusta. This foundation reinforces high-quality teaching, community-engaged research and practice, and attainable service opportunities for students and faculty.
In the upcoming years, we look forward to making real progress toward fulfilling the faculty’s mission and goals for broadening the educational milieu by means of on- and off-campus activities that incorporate historic and cultural heritage, avouch social awareness, and assert environmental attentiveness.
